The shop
Gems are bought with money (or as gem packs on the market) and spent on comfort. Every stepped perk is +1 per purchase and costs a little more each time. The Vein Blessing is the one comfort that touches your own xp: +5% xp from everything, +10% odds of a rare find, and unlimited storage, for fourteen days, bought again it adds fourteen more. It is small on purpose -- a thank-you for paying, not a lead over anyone who does not.
Community XP boost. At the top of the Comfort tab, for 650 gems, is the one spend that is not for you alone: it lifts the whole server's xp by 25% for an hour, every player online at once. Your name is called out to everyone when you give it, and buying again while one runs adds another hour on the end rather than stacking. The hours you have given all-time climb the Patrons board -- a tab on Ranks -- and the single biggest giver wears a gold crown over their head for the whole world to see. It grants no lead over anyone, since everyone shares the hour, which is the whole point of it.
Gems come in packs of ten. Whatever you buy arrives as gem packs in your storage, never the bag, so a full bag can never eat them: a thousand gems is a hundred packs. Open the stack from its menu in storage for the gems, or list packs on the market -- the teal Gems tab -- and let someone else pay coins for them. The first-purchase bonus comes the same way.
